Professional Healthcare Resources, a leader in Home Health, Hospice and Personal Care services in the Washington, DC and Baltimore, Maryland area, seeks a passionate and enthusiastic Hospice Volunteer Coordinator to join our leadership team in Washington, DC and Baltimore branches.

The Hospice Volunteer Coordinator provides training and supervision of all volunteer services of the Professional Healthcare Resources Hospice Program.
The Coordinator maintains a viable Hospice volunteer force, acts as liaison between staff and volunteers, initiates, designs, assigns, supervises, coordinates, and evaluates all volunteer activities.
The Hospice Volunteer Coordinator  main duties and responsibilities are as following:
  • Recruits, retains, orients and evaluates volunteers
  • Assigns, coordinates and supervises volunteer activities, primarily: direct patient care, clerical, bereavement, fundraising and special projects 
  • Maintains volunteer documentation

a) Instructs in documentation requirements

b) Receives and reviews volunteer reports and shares this information with team c) Maintains volunteer (personnel) files confidentiality

d) Records volunteer hours, mileage and activities 

  • Supports team and organization

b) Motivates volunteers to participate in internal and external roles, bereavement, medical records, performance improvement, health fairs, fund raisers, educational programs and community events

c) Participates in fund raisers and bi-annual memorial services 

  • Prepares statistical reports such as records of volunteer activities and documentation that volunteer hours are > 5% of direct patient care staff hours. 
The successful candidate must have  One (1) year of supervisory or program coordination experience and experience as and/or working with volunteers.
