Job Description

Professional Healthcare Resources, a leading home health care agency speicalizing in Home Health, Hospice and Personal Care is looking for an Account Manager II in our Annandale, VA office.   

An accounting professional responsible for managing operational functions for corporate and agency locations and services; promotes quality services in accordance with established agency policies and procedures, assuring the quality and growth of the agency; complies with federal, state, and local guidelines for all services.


  1. Provides hands-on management of operational accounting functions, including maintaining Company’s accounting system (Great Plains and Dynamics Management Reporter) fixed assets, general ledger and treasury-related activities (excluding medical billing, collections, and cash posting):

    1. Coordinates the implementation of accounting policies and procedures at direction of CFO

    2. Maintains required settings and reports in Great Plains and Dynamics Management Reporter; develops accounting reports as required

    3. Conducts monthly closing of books, monthly account reviews and expense allocations; prepares rough draft of monthly financial statements (including balance sheets, income statements, cash-flow reports) for review and approval of CFO


    4. Conducts the year-end close process at direction of CFO and coordinates flow of data sharing with the company’s independent auditors on annual financial reporting and income tax issues

    5. Maintains budget monitoring activities; assists CFO in forecasting future company financial performance

    6. Researches and resolves accounting issues with corporate and operating departments

    7. Responsible for implementation of internal control environment

  2. Completes regular reporting activities, assists CFO in making optimal operational decisions

    1. Generates and creates reports from various information systems as directed by the CFO

    2. Assists in establishing, promoting, and maintaining professional and cooperative business relationships with governing agencies, local businesses, the medical community, and educational venues

    3. Attends agency meetings and makes formal presentations as requested

    4. Maintains administrative records

  3. Payroll responsibilities:

    1. Works closely with company Systems Director, Human Resources, and data entry in resolving payroll adjustments and monitoring data entry progress leading up to each payroll deadline

    2. Coordinates the file preparation, analysis and review of all payroll data to ensure accurate and timely transmission

    3. Maintains an ongoing list of all payroll adjustments for the current period

    4. Resolves payroll issues and adjustments as they ariseSeeks additional training/education as determined by self-assessment and manager

      Education and/or Experience:

      1. Must possess a bachelor’s degree, with a major in accounting or finance preferred; CPA highly desirable
      2. Must have at least two to four (2-4) years’ experience in public accounting; Big 4 experience desirable
      3. Must have at least two (2) years’ experience in accounting supervision
      4. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) required; Strong skills with MS Excel required
      5. Demonstrated experience in implementing accounting policies and procedures
